ModSecur\u00ae IT Room is a scalable solution for future growth needs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jcs.pt\/pt\/unidades_de_saude\/laboratoriosanalises\/1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joaquim Chaves Sa\u00fade<\/a> has been in the market for over 60 years and today has a consolidated and recognized position in the field of medicine in Portugal. The Group grew sustainably in Mainland Portugal, Madeira and the Azores, with emphasis on the areas of Clinical Analysis, Medical Clinics and Oncology Treatment. Currently, it has more than 400 Collection Posts throughout the national territory.<\/p>\n<p>In order to offer access to the best existing solutions in the healthcare sector, the Group has updated itself, using the latest technological tools to keep its services prepared for the future. The ModSecur\u00ae brand powered by Maxiglobal was chosen for the renovation of its main data center, which replaced an obsolete infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>100% National Solution<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Joaquim Chaves Sa\u00fade wanted a data center that would guarantee high availability, scalability and security. Jorge Soares, Information Systems Director of the Group, says that the decisive factors for choosing ModSecur\u00ae ITRoom were the \u201cneed to renew the technological infrastructure, the availability of the Maxiglobal team and the confidence that the brand has in the market\u201d. An interior solution was implemented, consisting of a ModSecur\u00aeITRoom physical infrastructure, with 120 min fire protection and protection against water, dust, humidity and vandalism. The design of this project took into account not only physical security, but also the continuity of services.<\/p>\n<p>The implemented solution features 2 (n+1) redundancy for the backup energy systems (UPS), n+1 redundancy for the HVAC system and also a guaranteed emergency power system through a generator set, ensuring high availability of the entire infrastructure. In order to make the solution more efficient, the cooling corridor was containerized using the ModSecur 3 Axis module, which allows for energy optimization by reducing the consumption of cooling equipment by up to 35%.<\/p>\n<p>The technical room also has a video surveillance and access control system, in order to detect and avoid intrusion attempts. Infrastructure management is performed through ModSecur\u00ae DMS, a real-time monitoring and management system.<\/p>\n<p>The ModSecur\u00ae solution implemented is modular, scalable and redundant, guaranteeing the Customer a capacity for growth and service continuity. The IT Director states that the Labs Group is \u201cmuch more relaxed because the group is working with an infrastructure adapted to respond to the organization&#8217;s needs\u201d. He also adds that the company is very satisfied with &#8220;the possibility of scaling the datacenter in the coming years&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trust in the ModSecur\u00ae brand<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The datacenter implementation project was according to plan \u201cwith no delays during the process and always with constant and professional monitoring\u201d. Jorge Soares describes the solution as \u201cresilient, secure and adaptable\u201d.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Business continuity, even in critical periods<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Covid 19&#8217;s detection testing has dramatically increased the workload of the labs. For Jorge Soares, the implementation of ModSecur IT Room allowed \u201cto reduce downtime and reduce exposure to risks\u201d. The Group had an exponential increase in data volume in recent months.
